Job Description
As a service department leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the flow and operation of service work to meet customer and dealership expectations. Repair work must be distributed and monitored for high quality. You will work closely with the service advisors to ensure clear communication to the customer. You may also be required to maintain equipment and tools as well as helping determine the training needs of the technicians.

Job Requirements
You will need to demonstrate proficiency as a Diagnostic Level Technician, have good interpersonal skills, have knowledge of the dealership computer systems and complete the required training. In addition, you need to be 18 years or older, have a high school diploma or its equivalent, and have a valid driver’s license with a clean record. You may also be asked to meet the dealership’s other general requirements for employment, such as drug testing. Associate degree and ASE certification are recommended.

Job Description
A Shop Foreman plans, organizes, and controls the flow of service work throughout the service department in a professional, timely manner while ensuring quality repairs. A Shop Foreman must maintain contact with customers, supervise technician work quality, and coordinate with Parts or Service Manager to keep supplies and equipment running properly.

Job Requirements
You must have completely mastered the skills required of a Team Leader or Paint and Body Technician. You must have a high school diploma or its equivalent, and an associate’s degree is strongly preferred. You must also have to have a driver’s license with a clean record. You may also be asked to meet the dealership’s other general requirements for employment, such as drug testing.

Job Description
Diagnostic Level (or Master) Technicians tackle the more complex repairs and must be able to determine the cause and repair of malfunctions. Diagnostic Level Technicians must keep up with factory training and service bulletins while following federal, state and local safety regulations. Technicians need good communication skills to work with Tech-Line, service management, other technicians, and customers.
